"An amazing group of people...". In her last military engagement before relinquishing her appointment as Lord Lieutenant of Northumberland, the Duchess of Northumberland praised recipients of her Lord Lieutenant's Certificates for Meritorious Service.
In a ceremony hosted by Zulu Coy, 5RRF, the Duchess presented her Certificates to Reservists, Cadet Force Adult Volunteers and civilian members of staff, and said how much she had enjoyed these annual occasions throughout her 15 years as Lord Lieutenant. The Duchess also presented 4 Star Cadet Certificates to Cadets and appointed her Lord Lieutenant's Cadets for 2024, wishing them well for the year ahead.
Col Gordon Straughan, Chair NE RFCA, thanked the Duchess for her commitment to the military throughout her time in office - it had been very much appreciated. Lt Col John Gammon, Commanding Officer 5RRF, presented the Duchess with a bouquet of flowers.
