Lord Lieutenant of Co Durham’s Awards Ceremony
Tuesday 8 March 2022, saw the first of our Lord Lieutenants’ Awards Ceremonies for 2022. Mrs Sue Snowdon, Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of County Durham and Vice-President of the NE RFCA, presented Certificates of Meritorious Service to members of the Reserve Forces, Cadet Force Adult Volunteers and those personnel supporting the adults in the Cadet Forces within Co Durham. Mrs Snowdon also presented Cadets from the region with various awards, and appointed her new Lord Lieutenant’s Cadets for 2022.
In delivering her address to guests she said she was “immensely proud to present these awards to such well deserving recipients, who were not only a credit to their units, but who exemplified the best of the best within our communities …” She concluded by thanking everyone involved in organising a brilliant evening: the host unit 102 Bn REME for the venue and refreshments, the Royal Signals (N) Band for providing the music so expertly during the evening, members of the North of England RFCA, but especially the families of those who were being honoured as without their support none of it would be possible.
