Armed Forces Week 2024
The NE RFCA region saw our local authorities and communities join the rest of the country in flying the Armed Forces Day flag in support of our Armed Forces.
Culminating in Armed Forces Day – Saturday 29 June – the week provided everything from parades to picnics, fun days out, a motor-cycle cavalcade, military vehicles displays and re-enactments; just a few of the celebratory activities. Our Armed Forces, their families and support organisations have been honoured and their contribution to the safety of the nation truly recognised and appreciated. A wonderful week of tribute indeed.
Armed Forces Day is a chance for local people to show their support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets, and 'local' support was certainly shown by the Half Moon Inn in Durham City centre!
